Slightly refreshed after a vacation from the blog - though not from jobs, i.e. working on the computer - I'm slowly and quietly coming back. As a start, a loose, holiday text, one to warm up. Which doesn't mean without any specific content!
Summer joys
For years I have been practicing gratitude, i.e. I try to notice good things, even small ones, and give thanks for them. Sometimes I write them down once a day in a notebook, I have such periods.
For a year now, with breaks, I have also been using affirmations, thanks to which I have moved forward, grown, changed my life a little.
After not working for years, being a mother, a homemaker and homeschooling teacher, this year I dared to believe in myself, in my worth and.... apply for money. I dared to start responding to job offers. So I proofread translations and do work on some funny Excels. I dared to start selling natural cosmetics and supplements. I am happy about this step, which I was afraid to take for years.
I recently had a nice walk. I won't write this gratitude in a notebook, I will write it on the blog.
The boys and Husband were away for a few days, and I was home alone. I walked to such a farther store to hunt for dinner. A cow specifically. Steak. One store was already out of them, but I decided that the one further away had entrecote and roast beef waiting for me.
On the way I listened to affirmations on headphones. A beautiful summer walk and that rising mood when you listen to supportive, uplifting words.
At one point I met a squirrel. With a nut in its mouth or hands. It was the first time I saw such a picture in the wild. Because it was a rather a free, rather non-fed squirrel, which itself found this nut somewhere.... These animals are nice. Cheerful and comforting. And pretty.
See they are surviving wild and doing well. Just like deer, moose and mosquitoes. Without conservation programs and doing them good by force. I will speak a bit disrespectfully to all the environmentalists who ingest various data, but I believe that if humans calmed down, nature would renew itself in two seconds. She doesn't need to be helped. It is enough not to butcher her.
At our place, one neighbor organized a garden by her balcony. She planted bushes, flowers, there are also a few trees. She makes sure that the crazies don't mow there. She feeds the birds and puts out water for the animals. All in an area of maybe 7 meters by 7 meters.
And a microclimate has formed there. There nature is full of life there, it’s rich. There is shade there, so the moisture lasts longer. Many species of birds come, cats come, clouds of butterflies and other insects fly.
And around this patch of nature there are the micro trees and grass regularly shaved bald - how do you think they are and what color are they?
The color of the desert. They put concrete everywhere, cut down trees and bushes, shave the grass, and then whine about climate change and that it’s too dry and too hot. Plant bushes and leave them alone. It will be cooler and more humid. It's that simple.
Back to the walk...
Note that all squirrels are lovely, fit, with shiny fur and the same body proportions. There are no vegan gray or abundantly whale-like squirrels. The human body, too, is the body of a single species of earthly creatures. Now relate your images of the bodies of different copies of squirrels to the bodies of different copies of humans. Do squirrels lie in hospitals? Or does each maintain the optimal body shape and composition for that species? To reflect on.
And before the squirrel, I was donating something to a charity container and there was a ladybug sitting and waiting for me. Considering that I had read something about ladybugs in the morning, a nice sign.
Later, there were still squeaking tomtits and sparrows bathing in the sand.
On the balcony I have some flowers in average condition, not any clipped garden, and still plenty of pollinators fly in, and in the evenings moths, or night butterflies. They are also interested in flowers.
So nature is there, it is rich, it’s doing well, and I am always pleased by such small encounters with the wonders of nature. Do not forget that you too are a miracle of nature and that the trees, and the river do you better than concrete and razor 😉.
